Mashups

Now I am truly lost, I could not get this to work!!! Help

Podcasts

The ideas for use are really up to your imagination and client usage. I could see these being used for Local Studies Interviews; book reviews; oral presentations to groups that cannot come to the library - eg. retirement villages.

Answerboard

Interesting....but I would not use it. Would be good for reference training to use 'slamming the boards'.

LibraryThing

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/jhibburt

Also with technorati.com What a great way to search for subjects so you can find blogs images etc.. The advanced search was even better.

Week 6 - You tube - embedding

I will be using You tube for introducing novels to Secondary students. Better than me standing out the front trying to enthuse them. This can be an added extra. Thanks SLNSW!

Del.icio.us

What a great idea!!!! I sure will use this - I will be teaching and what a great way to save sites in an orderly fashion!!!! http://del.icio.us/joanhib

You tube and google videos

Probably mainly for fun, you can think of many subjects and search and videos appear. For example I searched for Wiggles - this could be used to show children, short clips of some of their popular songs. I also searched for Graphic novels and found a couple of interesting interviews.
Would probably use this for interviews for example the talks at Mosman Library that have been captured on authors.

Week 5

SJCPL Subject guide - looked at the cooking link - includes subscriptions, resources, staff recipes, recipe of the month, markets , homework - it is like a one stop shop. Wow I thought it was great and could be used in a school library application for pathfinders. I will definitely keep this one in mind.
Book Lovers Wiki - 5 star reviews - picture of book cover and easy to read. Great to bookmark for library.
Wookieepedia - Star Wars - would keep fans entertained for years!

Bloglines

I was mainly searching for feeds that could keep me up-to-date with book reviews etc. I was a little disappointed to find only American ones. Anyway I RSS these ones - NYT Book Review; USA today.combooks; Washington post book reviews. I also captured Shifted LIbrarian, Yahoo 7 news and probably the most valuable to me was the CMIS evaluation - Resource bank. This is a great tool for teaching and is Australian!!! Even though I have not had access to a computer for a while (broken and a son that is glued to it!!!) I have had some time tonight to spend looking at these feeds. I was quit impressed with what I found especially in the CMIS one. I would probably keep this and keep searching for more Australian sites and then I would use it for my own PD.

This iamge is of a ballet dancers foot in point position without shoes on. The photo shows the strain on the foot in detail. Quite amazing!!!! considering my daughter is a dancer, you can understand why they have to look after their feet!!! I could not load the photo even though it was public!!!

This is great but finding it hard to manouvre around the sites.

Home

I am having trouble when I am in a program etc. like Flickr to get back to the tutorial. If I press home I go back to my original page when I logged on. Is there a quicker way than pressing the back button.
